Ease into Autumn with Frame

Ancient Greek Philosopher Heraclitus once said, "There is nothing permanent except change," and no words have ever rung truer. Our days are a sequence of changes, from the rising sun to the sunset, and with each rotation around the sun, we are reminded of our constant state of transition. The changing seasons from Summer to Autumn marks a time of preparation as we head back to school, our routines, and our regularly scheduled life. As we prepare to enter the threshold of Autumn, let us view this moment as a chance to optimize our ability to welcome change and new beginnings!

This month, we have created a short guide to help you adjust to Autumn, along with several mantras that can support this seasonal change as you enter a new cycle of life!

  1. Create an Autumn Routine: Review your schedule and see what obligations, commitments, and activities you have scheduled. Note what is different about your schedule this season. Are you waking up earlier? Are you getting outdoors less? Will work become your number one priority? See where your schedule needs adjusting and plan activities that breathe life into your daily routine. Try this mantra as you go through your calendar:

"I accept the change of seasons and look forward to new adventures and activities this Autumn.”

  2. Workout in the Morning: According to Time Magazine, people naturally have elevated levels of cortisol and growth hormone in the morning. By working out in the morning, you'll draw more of your energy from your fat reserves and potentially help with weight loss. Starting the day with a workout on our Frame Reformer is a proactive step to prioritize your well-being this season and ensure you start your day feeling energized and ready to take on whatever comes your way! Try this mantra on your Frame Reformer:

“I prioritize my wellness by channeling gratitude into each movement as I give thanks for what my body can do.”

  3. Eat Nutrient Dense Meals: Multiple studies have found a correlation between a diet high in refined sugars and impaired brain function — and even a worsening of symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression. If you anticipate mood fluctuation with the changing seasons, nurture yourself by planning better meals. Pay attention to how you feel and choose to incorporate more seasonal fruits and vegetables into your diet. Visit your local Farmer’s Market and get outdoors! Try this mantra when cooking:

“I am grateful for the gift of food and look forward to nourishing myself with this meal.”

  4. Get Outdoors: Autumn’s arrival provides a chance to witness leaves turning vibrant hues of orange and red as the weather changes and the Earth prepares for cooler temperatures. Autumn is ideal for getting outdoors and walking or hiking as you boost your energy and clear your mind. Nature allows us to experience what is known as “involuntary attention.” This is when we become aware of our environment without reacting to it. According to a theory known as “attention restoration,” time spent in a natural environment gives us time to recharge our minds. Pick a local park or plan a hike and give yourself the chance to refresh your headspace. Try this mantra while walking:

“Every step that I take leads me closer toward greater peace, and every sound I hear is an invitation to ponder the mysteries of life.”

As you enter Autumn, remind yourself to move gently and be patient as you adjust to new routines. Change is a portal to personal development, so embrace the shifting season with open arms and optimism! Use our guide as a reference point and make this Autumn the best yet!
